What was said: (this conversation started as talk about OJ and quickly descended into a ridiculous banter on race in jails among other things - typos by those involved have not been corrected )
Person 1:oj needs to be in prison for the rest of his frigging life it will be amazing to me if someone in prison doesn't try to kill him....
Person 2: he finally got his and he deserves it
Person 1:ya know prisoners have a thing about killin
Person 2: i saw a news comment last night ...three different news folks said they thought he would be idolized in prison ?
Person 1:ya know there is a racist in that prison who will want him dead... i would bet
Person 2: would like to believe race would not enter into retting rid of that bad germ !!!
Person 1: i'd think theres at least 1 loon in that prison that would think killing OJ would make him a hero of some sort
Person 1: agree buttttttt that is a reality of life.... racism does exist.. and especially in prison
Person 3: today i feel our city has stepped a step backwards they opened the first all black school in toronto i feel that this only opens us all up to more racism the blacks wanted thisPerson 1: but then i don't know if he is out in GP or if he is isolated
Person 4: is he in a general population prison or a country club prison?
Person 2 : if i am not mistaken he is in gen population
Person 1: wow Person 4... that is surprising
Person 4: yes very much so Person 1 and i must say i am against it
Person 2: well Person 4 dunno that seems like reverse discrimination eh ?
Person 4: i feel so
Person 3: well, we have catholic schools, jewish schools..
Person 2: just like the all Negro College and Fund that exists here in the US >..
Person 4: we are already a minority in our own country you dont see many white people anymore at least in toronto
Person 2 : but we could NOT have a white college ... ??? interesting
Unchained Melody: exclusivity in reverse...hmm.....interesting.....maybe the community wants to focus on heritage related teachings...I see no issue that isn't human created in this choice
Person 2: theres black colleges
Person 4: i dont feel that is their reasoning
UnChained Melody: they want to focus on the blacks getting power and special concessions in the schools and i feel that is wrong
Person 3: was there reasoning for a black school for kids that the kids werent getting an education?
Person 4: i am not really sure what the reasoning is just saw on tv that it is opening today guess more will come to light later
Person 3: how many black teachers are there compared to white teachers in public schools?
Unchained Melody: Person 4.....i've seen so much discrimination in my lifetime.....all around the u.s.a.......so this does not surprise me...and I guess we'll have to wait n see what evolves of it before placing fear into the equation
Person 5: shoot..one of the best colleges in this area started as a all black teachers college...
Person 4 : this is in ontario the US
Unchained Melody : i for one...take issue with violence in schools....and it 'seems' to me..that teachers..whatever race they may be..are undergoing HUGE challenges just to keep order in the class rooms
Person 4: yes Unchained Melody in our schools just this year alone there have been several murders
Person 6: well yeah Unchained Melody and it has been dangerous for years hence Live was hurt by a student ruined her life
Unchained Melody: i also feel that the streets aren't safe of ANY PERSON OF ANY RACE when we do not teach CHILDREN of any race that violence isn't the answer nor the purpose
Person 6: at the peak of her career
Unchained Melody: exactly Person 6.......bless her for her strength
Person 2: Person 6 that is very sad
Person 6: yes it is and she is in your area Person 2 i found her
Person 2: the student ? would love for her to see what she did btu i can only assume she would not care
Person 2: yes
Person 4: i was not a teacher but i loved my job and my work injuries did not sit well with my employer so they did everything to break me down they say the compensation board goes out of their way to help injured workers
Person 6: nuttin to do but learn to live with it all
Person 4: then why dont they go out of their way to serve their own injured employee
Unchained Melody: its a sad world ...has been for awhile..when it comes to whats happening to the strength that is our diversity....seems we cannot or will not embrace it
Person 2: well Person 4 face it scholl boards have no money work comp treated her like the criminal
Person 4: i did not work for a school i worked for 35 years at the workers compensation board
Unchained Melody: there's no money in curing this...the money is in the crime and the punishment ...seems to be so in all areas of this country's dynamics....
Person 4: and trust me i know how lives feels i got a double whammy i work for them and i am an injured worker
Person 2 : Person 6... have you been able to establish if that individual is upstanding in the community now ?
Person 6: i have not
Person 2: aha ....
Person 6: but i know she is still in the area hell i even got her address
Unchained Melody : that would be interesting to find out.....good point.
